2026 San Marcos Pop Warner - Tackle Football

San Marcos Pop Warner offers Age Based 11-Man Tackle Football for ages 7 through 13 years old.

The age of the participant on July 14th will be the Age Division they will be eligible to be placed in.

To verify age, A COPY of a valid Birth Certificate is required to be provided to San Marcos Pop Warner.

Divisions

8U - 7 and 8 years old (TBD)

9U - 7, 8 and 9 years old

10U - 8, 9, and 10 years old (TBD)

11U - 9, 10, and 11 years old (TBD)

12U - 10, 11 and 12 years old

13U - 11, 12, and 13 years old

PLEASE NOTE:

IT IS NOT GUARANTEED THAT ALL AGE DIVISIONS WILL BE FORMED.

Division placement is based on the number of participants registered for a particular division.

IT IS NOT GUARANTEED THAT A PARTICIPANT PLAYS IN THEIR OLDEST ELIGIBLE AGE DVISION.

In the event a Division is not formed, all participants in that unformed division will be moved into the next eligible division.

ex.: an 8 year old registered into 8U could be moved to 9U / 10U, if an 8U (9U) team does not reach the expected team size to form

San Marcos Pop Warner has player safety at the forefront of every team formation.

FRIEND REQUEST, COACH REQUEST, and DIVISION REQUEST may be considered, but are NOT GUARANTEED.

TEAM SIZE:

The MINIMUM players per team is 16 players

The MAXIMUM players per team is 35 players

Should a division/team have less than 16 players registered the division/team will not be eligible for game play until the minimum number is met.

Should a division have more than 35 players registered a WAITLIST will be created, and waitlisted players will not be rostered for a team until the MINIMUM players per team is met.

Preseason Activities:

Sizing - Jersey / Uniform / Spirit Wear (March, April, May)

Association Fundraiser (each participant is to raise $50.00)

San Marcos Pop Warner Clinic / Camp (End of Spring / Early Summer)

Equipment Handout (beginning of July)

Season Dates:

Practice Begins as early as JULY 15, 2026

MANDATORY - Player Certification - End of July / Beginning of August

Games Begin - 2nd or 3rd Saturday of August

Season Ends - Week before Thanksgiving in November

GAMEDAY:

San Marcos Pop Warner is an association within West Coast Conference. Games will be played on Saturdays versus OTHER CITIES / ASSOCIATIONS within WCC, and other outside Conferences. Travel is GUARANTEED. We will play as far north as Inland Empire / Orange County, as far South as Chula Vista, and as far EAST as EL CENTRO, during regular season play.

GAMES MAY BE PLAYED ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND.

Home Fields - Mission Hills High School, San Marcos High School, Sunset Park (***Flag) Bradley Park, and Connors Park

Practice Fields - Sunset Park (Flag & Tackle), and Connors Park (Tackle)

***Flag - IF Sunset is scheduled for games, our Flag teams will be HOME team; Flag "HOME" games subject to be played on neutral field

POP WARNER is a Minimum Play Rule organization. Every player is guaranteed a minimum amount of game time play respective to their team size.
